Hear ye Tarik Cohen Jersey , hear ye! This is your 1st quarter WCG Fantasy Tournament Update! With 4 weeks in the books, it’s been a scoring BANANZA in this 60 person Tournament! NFL offenses have been straight up ballin’ to start the season! We’re basically seeing decade highs (and a bunch of historic highs) in pretty much every offensive category. Through the first 4 weeks, 2018 has seen the most TDs scored (344), the most points scored (3,030), the most passing TDs (228), the most passing yards (34,238), the most completions (2,997) and the highest average passer rating (94.4). Absolutely ridiculous, yet absolutely awesome. As you would expect, those gaudy real football numbers have translated to some equally gaudy fake football numbers thus far. So with that, let’s take a look at the Tournament as it currently stands. I initially wasn’t going to include the week 4 scores, and just concentrate on the over-all standings... but they were just too good to ignore! So first, here are your Week 4 scoring leaders:1. Beardowniniowa (Big Mack Attack) - 208.802. H20HOF (Nathaniel’s Team) - 182.163. BearAnBullsSoxOhMy! (Mitch N’ Biscuits) - 179.784. Bill Cartwright’s Elbow (Bill’s Elbow Chop!) - 179.385. Patti (Gale’s Slayers) – 175.56Nice, right? We also minted a new single week scoring leader as well:Beardowniniowa (Big Mack Attack) - 208.80Congrats! Now, with this being fantasy football and all, I can’t very well list the top scoring teams without throwing some shade at this week’s low scoring teams:1. Aerahan1310 (Aerahan1310) – 47.602. el_caney (Raymont Harris’Ghost) - 79.763. bearfan2793 (Who Bears Wins) - 86.984. Griot28 (Punching Peanuts) - 90.065. on the fencik (on the fencik) - 90.78Sorry everyone. Had to be done. If you need some advice, feel free to post below, or hit up the Fantasy Forum Article on Friday! Beardowniniowa (Big Mack Attack) - 576.24These are the current favorites in the race for the shirt through 4 week! I know, the competition is stiff (especially with yours truly sitting at the top of the pile, not to brag...ok, maybe a little). But fear not. If you fall short of the over-all Tournament Championship, but manage to win your division, you’ll still earn a prize! And I just started getting them in the mail a few days ago:That’s right! All the Division champs will get their Division’s logo on a vinyl sticker! That means 5 people will be getting prizes this year, so even if you aren’t currently in the top 5, you can’t give up! Not when there’s schwag on the line! Now, to show that this Tournament isn’t all about bragging for the leaders (myself not excluded), and ragging on the losers, we’re going to bring WCG’s Fantasy Guru Jeff Berckes in to give some quick advice to our last place participant, el_caney (Raymont Harris’Ghost) in Butkus Division, who’s 0-4 team has been decimated by injury (Greg Olsen, Tyler Eifert, Leonard Fournette, Rex Burkhead, Sammy Watkins) and under performance (Derrick Henry, Tom Brady [kinda], Jamaal Williams, Kelvin Benjamin http://www.thebearslockerroom.com/authentic-aaron-lynch-jersey , Dak Prescott, Josh Doctson):Jeff’s Advice:1. No need to carry 2 defenses. Open up that roster spot to get another skill player.2. Try and trade for a RB. Yeldon might be a good target as a handcuff to Fournette when he’s healthy.3. If you must, see if you can get a good return for Michael Thomas. Think - low end RB1 plus WR 2 at minimum. See who has an extra running back that might be willing to make the swap.4. Keep grinding. Plenty of talent on the roster with a lot of bad luck. Keep going!Good stuff Jeff! I’ll quickly add my own quick advice:1. Throw Greg Olsen into your IR slot, and free up another bench spot.2. You are weak at RB currently, so I’d grab Mike Davis if you can. He should be a better option than what you have for at least the next week or two, and could still carry some value once Chris Carson is back (if not, he’s an easy drop).3. Keep grinding! An 0-4 start can easily turn into a 12-4 finish! All you need is a little luck, and some savvy roster moves!Hopefully this advice, combined with your already solid waiver moves this week, will help you to turn things around! That will just about do it for our 1st Quarter WCG Fantasy Tournament Recap! From all of us here, we’d like to wish everyone the best of luck the rest of the way! Bear Down all! One of the more elite players in the NFL Draft may be squarely on the Falcons radar. Here is the scouting report on Florida State’s Brian Burns. ESTShareTweetShareShare2019 NFL Draft Scouting Report: DE Brian Burns, Florida State Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY SportsThe Atlanta Falcons are looking at the NFL Draft to get after the quarterback. Here is a prospect that is in the web of possibility for the Falcons with their 14th pick. Part of the process is already underway this offseason for the Atlanta Falcons when speaking of improving the overall pass rush. For most, the decision to bring back edge rusher Vic Beasley for the 2019 season with plenty of discontent and rightfully so with Beasley’s underwhelming production (or lack thereof) over the past four seasons. The Falcons front office and coaching staff has made it known that fixing a pass rush that was tied for 22nd in the NFL in sacks last season. So let’s turn the focus to one of the best pass rushers in the entire 2019 NFL Draft. A player that will be highly coveted and is likely sitting very high on the Falcons draft board. Brian Burns Scouting Report Height: 6’5 Weight: 249 lbs Career stats: 123 tackles, 38.5 tackles for loss, 23 sacks, seven forced fumbles, seven pass deflections Games watched: 2017 vs. Louisville, 2017 vs. Clemson Kevin White Jersey , 2017 vs. Alabama, 2017 vs. Florida, 2018 vs. Miami, 2018 vs. Virginia Tech, 2018 vs. Boston College Strengths: First thing that comes off on film is the long, wiry frame of Burns. As a result, fans are turned off because of his lack of girth. Make no mistake, Burns is a pass rusher and a damn good one at that. Burns explodes out of his stance with his elite first step quickness which is evident in his 1.57 10-yard split on his 40-yard dash (4.53 seconds). Burns shows surprising bend around the edge for a tall defender and can dip underneath offensive tackles who choose to attack in an upright stance. Burns is a long limbed defender with a 68-inch wingspan, which comes in handy when he is able to initiate a strip sack and disrupts passing lanes when unable to get to the QB. Athleticism should never come into question when describing his overall skill set. In run defense, Burns displays effort consistently and is not always a liability on the edge as some may assume he is. His suddenness against ball carriers is also easy to detect on film and Burns is able to change direction naturally and make plays in space. Arguably his best attribute in his skill is his ability to apply an arsenal of pass rushing moves. From the ability to dip and bend around the edge to timing a swift spin move to ripping through an offense, Burns is a pass rusher with a plan. It may not look as if he has the ability to but Burns can convert speed-to-power when the opportunity arises. Weaknesses: Run defense is the first topic on the agenda when discussing Burns’ flaws. His length will allow him establish leverage but his overall play strength may get him in trouble at times. Teams will run at Burns even with his given length/size, because they can tell this. While Burns was able to add weight and enter the Combine at roughly 250-lbs, you wonder if Burns is capable of adding bulk and still showcase that athleticism on a consistent basis, which may limit his utility. Conclusion: As you can tell from my write-up, Burns is a prospect that has very few negatives in my eyes, consistent strength against the run being the major one. Burns has shown during his time at Florida State that he is capable of setting the tone against the opposing offense and there were many occasions when Burns was the best defender on a Florida State defense that was filled with athleticism and speed. Thanks to his impressive NFL Combine, Burns solidified his draft stock and currently I have him as a top-10 player overall. So the chances of him getting drafted in the top-10 is considerable. But with the Falcons having a General Manager that has never shied away from draft-day trades, it is not completely out of the realm that the team could trade up in the draft to take an elite pass rusher with All-Pro potential. If the Falcons so happen to add Burns and his talent to the roster, his addition will instantly improve and elevate the Falcons defensive front.
